Documented Life Project-Week 7

Continuing in the February Theme of  Layers You Will Love in the Document Life Project the February 14th challenge is Cover Up Good Stuff.  The Journal Prompt is Going Undercover.  I had to go to all of the Art to the 5th sites and check them out because I didn't really understand the prompt.  What I determined from my visits is that you sometimes have to cover up so good layers to put more good layers on.

I started out by writing a Bible verse that I had come across in my Bible Journaling Facebook Group. I really liked it and wanted to incorporate it into my page.  This was my "good stuff".

Next I covered the page with white gesso.  I glued some punched out flowers and some cut hearts onto the page.  Then covered everything with a layer of two colors of acrylic paint in blue and green. I used my fingers to put some random circles of Pink paint on the page and smeared some gesso on random areas to tone down the color.  I used my Stabilo pencil to put some random marks on the page as well as outline the flowers.  Using a waterbrush I went over the pencil marks.  OK now I'm to the "Ugly" stage.

I pressed onward and added some black gesso through a stencil in the corners.  Much better.  Added more random marks.  Glued on a few more flowers and started liking what I was seeing.  I printed out the verse and cut it into strips and glued it on the page.  I'm calling it done.

Also this week I want to share a picture of my husband, Tom and our granddaughter, Lydia.  It was taken on Tom's birthday 2/4/2015.  He is wearing his birthday shirt from our son, Joe and daughter-in-law, Lisa.  He is THE Grandfather!!.  He is also wearing a hat that says "Best Granddad".

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you come back soon.
